DEVELOPMENT OF A HIGH-PERFORMANCE COMPRESSORWITH ISOTHERMAL COMPRESSION METHOD

圧縮機の性能を向上させるため、圧縮機内部の気体圧縮面に冷却液体を注入することで冷却効果を高めた連続冷却圧縮法を考案した。この圧縮法によれば、理論的にはほぼ等温状態で気体を圧縮できることになり、従来に比べ圧縮機の性能を大幅に改善できる可能性がある。本研究は、商用圧縮機を用いて等温理論の性能を実証する試験を実施した。実証試験には、圧縮時の冷却が比較的容易である変位型のベーン型ロータリ圧縮機を用いた。実験は冷却流量の調整、ベーンの枚数と形状、および吐出口の位置などを改良することで、吐出圧、吐出量、温度、動力を測定した。その結果、改良により圧縮機能を、これまでの商用機よりも30%程度まで向上させることに成功した。

WHEN GAS IS COMPRESSED BY A COMPRESSOR, THE TEMPERATURE OF THE COMPRESSED GAS IS RAISED BY ADIABATIC OR POLYTROPIC PROCESSES. THE HIGH TEMPERATURE CAUSES INCREASE POWER CONSUMPTION BY THE COMPRESSOR, SO WERMSR COOL THE COMPRESSED GAS DURING COMPRESSION TO RECDUCE THE CONSUMED POWER. IN GENERAL, TO ACHIEVE HIGHER EFFICIENCY, THE COMPRESSED GAS OF SOME PRESSURE STAGES IS EXTRACTED AND COOLED BEFOREREACHING THE HIGHER RATED PRESSURE. TWO OR THREE STAGES ARE USED FOR COOLING THE COMPRESSED GAS BUT THE NUMBER STAGES IS LIMITED BECAUSE OF THECOST OF HEAT EXCHANGERS. WE HAVE CONCEIVED AN ADVANCED METHOD TO IMPROVE COMPRESSOR EFFICIENCY. COOLING LIQUID IS INJECTED INTO THE COMPRESSOR TO ACHIEVE IS OTHERMAL COMPRESSION WITH CONTINUOUS COOLING DURING COMPRESSION. WE EXPERIMENTED WITH EFFICIENCY IMPROVEMENT USING A VANE ROTARY COMPRESSOR. THE AMOUNT OF COOLING LIQUID WAS ADJUSTED TO ATTAIN THEMINIMUM TEMPERATURE. THE NUMBER OF VANES WAS INCREASED FROM 6 TO 12 AND THE FORM WAS IMPROVED TO STOP LEAKS THE HIGHER-PRESSURE CHAMBER TO THE LOWER ONE. THE TEMPERATURE, AIR FLOW RATE AND CONSUMED POWER WERE MEASURED AS FOLLOWS BY VARYING AIR PRESSURES FROM 100 KPA TO 800 KPA. (1)NO LOAD TEST; INLET VALVE OF COMPRESSOR CLOSED (2)6 AND 12 VANES (3)I-TYPE AND P-TYPE VANES (4)COMPRESSED AIR EXHAUSTED FROM DIFFERENT OUTLETS WITH ANGLES AT CIRCUMFERENCE OF 7 AND 14.5 DEGREE FROM CONVENTIONAL POSITION. THE LOWEST POWER CONSUMPTION WAS ATTAINED BY A 12 P-TYPE VANE COMPRESSOR WITH 14.5 DEGREE OUTLETS THE COMPRESSION EFFICIENCY WAS 30% BETTER THAN THAT OF CONVENTIONAL COMPRESSORS.
