第２次石油危機以降、世界エネルギー市場ではさまざまな構造変化が進んでいる。こうした世界エネルギー市場での構造変化を反映させるため、IEA統計をベースとして新たに構築した1980-98年の世界エネルギー需給データベースを用い、世界エネルギーモデルWEP2001を開発した。 モデルの特徴としてまず、国際石油、石炭価格にくわえ、国際天然ガス価格を世界市場での需給均衡から内生化している点があげられる。天然ガスについては、北米、アジア、欧州の３市場に分けてモデル化した。次に、従来のG7各国に加え、中国、アジアについても、最終エネルギー消費および発電部門燃料消費を内生化し、両地域の経済成長やエネルギー需要構造が世界エネルギー市場へ与えるインパクトを分析することができるようになった。さらに、OPEC石油生産についても、大規模な埋蔵量を持つカルテルコアグループおよび非カルテルコアグループの２つに分けて内生化を試みた。

概要 （英文）

We have developed a new world energy demand and supply model, so-called the World Energy Prices Model WEP2001, in which world primary energy prices are endogenously determined by global balances of energy demand and supply. This model has a detailed final energy demand model for individual G-7 countries, China and the other Asian region. WEP2001 also includes demand and supply model of the major three international gas markets, North American and European pipeline gas and Asian LNG. The sensitivity tests of WEP2001 are summarized as follows:(1) If GDP for G-7, China and the other Asian countries, which consume 60% of world primary energy resources, decrease by 1%, international prices of oil and coal go down by 3.6% and 2.4% respectively and international prices of north American pipeline gas, European pipeline gas and Asian LNG decrease by 3.4%, 3.6% and 5.9% respectively. (2) If OPEC cuts its oil supply by 1% (equivalent to nearly three hundreds thousand barrels per day), the world oil price rises by 4.7%.(3) If GDP of China and the other Asian countries, which consume 20% of world primary energy resources, increase by 1%, prices of world oil, coal and Asian LNG rise by 0.9%, 1.0% and 2.6% respectively.
