企業の安全に関する各種調査の一環として、実際に現場で作業する従業員を対象とした安全に関する取り組みや意識を尋ねるための調査票を開発し、建設業の現場職員と石油化学・繊維化学業の工場従業員を対象に調査を実施し1126名からの回答を得た。回答結果を分析したところ、安全に関する取り組みは建設業の協力会社職員が最も熱心で、建設業の本社職員、化学工場従業員の順であった。労災件数の多寡による特徴を調べたところ、両業種とも労災件数の多いグループと少ないグループの間に明確な違いは見られなかった。一方、業界内部で認知されている安全活動の熱心さを元に建設業の回答をグループ分けしたところ、熱心と思われている企業では従業員の安全に関する取り組みも職場の雰囲気もそうでない企業に比べて優れていることが示された。この結果を元に建設業の特殊性や労災件数を企業の安全度とみなすことの意味について検討した。

概要 （英文）

Labor accidents happen in factories and sites and are caused by the employees who are working there. So it's necessary to evaluate the safety culture of the organization from the safety attitudes and safety activities executed by the employees who are working in the factories or in the sites.From this viewpoint, research study was executed to measure and evaluate the safety attitudes of the employees working in petro-chemical/petro-textile factories and in construction sites and gathered 1126 answers. In this paper, these answers were analyzed and these results were found.- Comparing between employees working in construction industry andpetro-chemical/petro-textile industry, employees in constructionindustry showed higher scores about safety related activitiesand they seem to have more eagerness to safety. Especially, employees in subcontract companies in construction industry show highest scores in safety related activities.- There seems to be a discrepancy between the index measured by the occurrences of labor accidents and the judgments from the expert in that industry. The results from the questionnaires strictly match the judgments from the expert so the safety index measured by the occurrences of labor accidents seems to be not so good measures for safety related activities.
