石炭の簡易脱灰技術の開発を目的に石炭中の灰分の単体分離特性におよぼす灰分の分布状態の影響を明らかにするために、顕微鏡画像を用いて灰分の粒径や形状を数値化し、灰分の分布状態を定量化する手法について検討を行った。

概要 （英文）

A great deal of effort has been concentrated on mineral removal from raw coal because it causes many serious disadvantages in coal utilization. The removal of the mineral matter by physical separation procedures is directly related to the mineral distribution and crushing methods. In this study, quantitative analysis of mineral distribution using photomicrograph was investigated to develop a removal method of mineral matter with efficiency. The curve of brightness obtained from the photomicrograph was used to distinguish between mineral matter and organic matter in raw coal. And also the shapes of mineral matter were determined with the ratio of maximum length to diameter as shape factor. The results showed that distribution of mineral matter in raw coal could be determine with quantitatively.
