宮城村の要請に基づき,「適作物の選定と栽培技術」について平成元年度から平成4年度まで4年間の試験を実施した。選定した適作物はサトイモ,ブロッコリー,ソバ,ヤマユリ,スカシユリである。各々の作物に関して以下の成果を得た。(1)サトイモは,芽出しとマルチ栽培の組合せにより低温を回避する栽培が必要である。(2)ブロッコリーは,中,晩生種による10~11月収穫が安定しており,端境期出荷ができ有利である。(3)ソバは,コンバイン利用により収穫が省力化でき,二毛作が可能である。(4)ヤマユリは,ハウス利用による食用球生産が効率的で安定している。(5)スカシユリは,組栽培養の基礎的条件を解明し,溶液栽培による切り花生産の可能性を認めた。

MIYAGI VILLAGE IN GUNMA PREFECTURE IS THE SITE OF THE CRIERI AKAGI TESTING CENTER AND HOPES TO PROMOTE AGRICULTURE.THE VILLAGE ASKED TO CRIEPI TO SELECT SUITABLE CROPS AND TO DEVELOP CULTIVATION TECHNOLOGIES IN THE VILLAGE. FOUR CROPS WERE SELECTED:TARO,BROCCOLI,BUCKWHEAT,GOLDEN-RAYED LILY AND THUNBERG LILY.CULTIVATION TESTS WERE CONDUCTED.THE TEST FARM WAS ABOVE SEA LEVEL AT AKAGI TESTING CENTERAND THE DURATION OF THE TESTS WAS 4 YEARS FROM 1988 TO 1992.THE RESULTS ARE AS FOLLOWS: 1. GUNMA DOTARE AND YATUGASHIRA TARO WERE SELECTED.THE YIELDS WERE 550 KG/10 A AND 680 KG/10 A RESPECTIVELY.THESE YIELDS WERE ABOUT 50% TO 60% OF THE ESTIMATED TARGETS.LOW TEMPERATURE AT THE BEGINNING OF GROWTH WAS THOUGT THE DECREASED YIELDS.SPROUT GERMINATION IN GREENHOUSES AND FIELD GROWTH MULCHING ARE NECESSARY FOR STABLE PRODUCTION. 2.FIVE VARIETIES OF BROCCOLI WERE SELECTED FOR LONG-RANGE CULTIVATION FROM OCTOBER TO FEBRUARY.THE YIELD OF TOURYOU WAS 800 KG/10 A AND WAS STABLE WHEN THE HARVEST DURATION WAS FROM MID OCTOBER TO LATE NOVEMBER.HARVEST AT THIS TIME IS AN ADVANTAGE BECAUSE THE HARVEST OF BROCCOLI IN OTHER PLACES IS DECREASING AT THIS TIME. 3.BUCKHEAT WAS SOWN FROM LATE APRIL TO THE FIRST TEN DAYS OF MAY.THE WINTER TYPE WAS HARVESTED IN LATE JULY,AND WAS SOWN IN EARLY AUGUST.THE AUTUMNAL TYPE WAS HARVESTED IN LATE OCTOBER.DUCK WHEAT WAS HARVESTED IN ABOUT 2 HOURS BY USING ARICE COMBINE HARVESTER. 4.BREEDING OF GOLDEN-RAYED LILY IS IMPORTANT FOR EATING THE BULB. THE GROWTH RATES OF THE CHILD BULBS IN A GREENHOUSE WERE COMPAREDTO PLANTS IN A WOOD.AFTER TWO YEARS,THE CHILD BULBS IN THE GREENHOUSE WERE 1.7 TIMES BIGGER THAN THOSE IN THE WOOD.THE GREENHOUSE ISEFFECTIVE FOR CONTROLING INSIDE TEMPERATURE AND SOIL MOISTURE. 5.THUNBERG LILY WAS TESTED FOR TISSURE CULTURE AND HYDROPONIC CULTURE.PRETREATING BY WASHING THE SCALE OF BULB IN 70% ETHANOL FOR 1 MINUTE AND 3% HYPOCHLOROUS SODIUM FOR 60 MINUTES WAS SUITABLE.MS CULTURE MEDIUM CONTAINING 0.1 PPM KINETIN,0.1 PPM ALPHA-NAPHTA
