本報告は直流電気現象の農業分野への活用を図るため,とくに放電によるイオンが植物生育におよぼす効果の検証を目的とし,サラダナ,ハツカダイコンを対象とし水耕栽培で行った予備的結果を述べている。その結果,生育促進効果を検証するまでには至っていないが,今後の研究についての解明すべき点などを指摘している。
概要 (英文)
A PRELIMINARY EXPERIMENT WAS CONDUCTED TO EVALUTE THE POSSIBILITY OF DC CORONA DISCHARGE ON THE GROWTH EFFECTS OF THE PLANTS. THE FOLLOWING TWO EXPERIMENTS WERE CARRIED OUT. AT FIRST,THEEVAPORATION RATES OF WATER AND PRODUCTION OF OZONE UNDER CONDITION EITHER BY POSITIVE OR NEGATIVE COROUA DISCHARGE WERE ESTIWATED. THE EVAPORATION RATE WAS ACCELARATED 2 3 TIMES HIGHER THAN THAT OF THE CONTROLS AND VARIED DEPENDING ON THE APPLIED VOLTAGE AND SHAPE OF THE ELECTRODE. THE PRODUCTION OF OZONE TENDS TO DECREASE DEPENDING ON THE APPLIED VOTAGE AND SHAPE OF THE ELECTRODE. SECONDLY,TO ESTIMATE THE GROWTH EFFECT OF THE CORONA DISCHARGE THE PLANTS WERE GROWN IN HYDROPONICS ACCORDING TO THE FOLLOWING TWO EXPERIMENTAL SYSTEMS. ONE OF THE TWO EXPERIMENTS WAS CARRIED OUT IN SUCH FUSHION THAT AN POINT ELECTRODES PRODUCING ION AND ELECTROSTATIC FIELDS WERE POSITIONED DIRECTLY 3CM ABOVE THE SURFACE OF CULTURE SOLUTION. THIS ELECTRODE ARRANGEMENT PRODUCES INCREASED ION OF NIFROGEN IN THE SOLUTION. IN THE SECOND EXPERIMENT THE WIRE ELECTRODES WERE LOCATED DIVECTLY 45 VM ABOVE THE GROWING VEGETABLES. IN THE LATTER EXPERIMENT,THE TOTAL ION CURRENT WAS MONITORED DURING THE GROWTH PERIOD. THERE WAS NO MARKED GROWTH EFFECTS IN BOTH CASES WHEN COMPARED BETWEEN EXPOSED AND COUNTROL PLATS. ION CURRENT INCREASED PROPORTIONALLY WITH THE PLANT GROWTH WHICH INDICATE THAT THE MONITORING OF ION CURRENT COULD BE USED AS A PARAMETER FOR THE GROWTH. ALTHOUGH THE QROWTH ACCELARATION BY CORONA DISCHARGE WAS NOT ABSERVED IN THE PRESENT BOTH EXPERIMENTS,WE SHOULD CONFIRM THE RESULTS IN FURTHER EXPERIMENTS WITH WELL CONTROLLED ENVIROMENTAL CONDITIONS.
