通信ネットワークを計画する際には，ネットワークの特性や性能をあらかじめ知る必要がある．性能評価を行う手法の一つとして，計算機シミュレーションがある．現状のシミュレータには市販品やフリーソフトがあるが，扱いが複雑かつ計算に長時間かかるため，通信ネットワークの計画者が簡易に評価するには不向きである．そこで，電力会社の通信ネットワークの計画者が簡易にネットワークを評価できるシミュレータをユーザのニーズ調査に基づき設計し，基本部分を開発した．さらに機能評価を行った．特徴は，ネットワークの構成としてツリートポロジーを，トラヒックソースとして電話(VoIP)，LAN，動画像，電力用アプリケーションをあらかじめ用意し，入力の簡素化を図っている．高速化を図るため評価項目の算出に必要の無い機能を省いている．また，ノードで発生する遅延は，実機特性に応じた遅延を代数式で表しシミュレータに実装している，等がある．

概要 （英文）

Simulation technique is very useful technique for the performance evaluation of IP-network. In particular, when we want to know the performance for the large scale IP-network, we need to use simulation technique. In these days, there are many network simulators. However, those network simulators require very high skill and large setup time, for the example, network modeling or parameter setting. Thus, it is important to develop the simple network simulation tool. In our previous study, we developed the method of ATM switch simulator. We applied this technique to method of IP-network simulator and developed the simple network simulation tool. By using this network simulator, we can evaluate the large scale network with a small command ( or parameter ) set. In this report, we show the method of IP network simulator and modeling method of a layer-2 witch or a router and applications. Also, we show the usefulness of this network simulator with two evaluation examples.
