IN A THERMAL POWER PLANT,WHERE TRANSITIONAL OPERATIONS SUCH AS START-UP,SHUT-DOWN AND LOAD CHANGE ARE REPEATED,IT ISVERY IMPORTANT FOR SECURING THE OVERALLRELIABILITY OF THE PLANT TO EVALUATE AND CONTROL THE ELEVATED-TEMPERATURE FATIGUE LIFE OF A TURBINE ROTOR IN THE PLANT. AND THIS FATIGUE LIFE SHOULD BE EVALUATED IN TERMS OFDAMAGES PRODUCED UNDER CREEP-FATIGUE INTERACTION. IT HAS BEEN DEMONSTRATED THAT THE STRAIN RANGE PARTITIONING(SRP)METHOD CAN BE EFFECTIVELY APPLIED TO EVALUATION OF ELEVATED-TEMPERATURE FATIGUE LIFE UNDER CREEP-FATIGUE INTERACTION. IN ORDER TO EVALUATE THE FATIGUE LIFE OF A TURBINE ROTOR STEEL THROUGH THE SRP METHOD,THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN STRAIN RANGE COMPONENT AND FAILURE LIFE WAS OBTAINED EXPERIMENTALLY. BESIDES,THE ACCURACY OF LIFE EVALUATION THROUGH THE SRP METHOD WAS EXAMINED,AND IT WAS FOUND THAT THE RESULTS OF LIFE EVALUATION FELL WITHIN A FACTOR OF 1.5 AS IN CASE OF TYPE 304 AND 2.25CR-1MOSTEELS.
