直流送電系統における負荷遮断器用に,通電用電極と高電圧発生用可溶エレメント,エネルギー吸収用非線形抵抗器(ZnO)とを並列に接続した複合抵抗転流方式を提案し,その基本原理と転流遮断特性を検討し,良好な結果を得た。・エレメント材料…銀,銅,アルミ,ステンレスおよびニクロム。・エレメント-高耐圧筒間の充填材…空気,消弧砂,蒸留水,シリコン油およびシリコンコンパウンド。・負荷電流…1,2および4kA。

TAKING ADVANTAGES OF A DRIVEN ELECTRODE FOR CURRENT PASSING, A FUSIBLE ELEMENT FOR HIGH VOLTAGE-GENERATING, AND A NON-LINEAR RESISTOR OF ZNO FOR ENERGY-ABSORBING, WE PROPOSED A COMPOSITERESISTANCE COMMUTATION TYPE DC LOAD BREAKER WITH NO COOLING SYSTEM. THE 12CM LONG ELEMENT IS ENCLOSED TOGETHER WITH A FILLER MATERIAL IN A PRESSURE RESISTANT CYLINDER. 1.THE 4KA LOAD CURRENT COULD BE BROKEN IN 9MS AFTER THE INITIATION OF THE ELECTRODE OPENING. 2.DESCRIBING THE ARC VOLTAGE BETWEEN ELECTRODES AS VE=AT FOR TIME T,AND DENOTING THE LOAD CURRENT AS ID, COMMUTATION RESISTANCE INCLUDING THE ELEMENT AS RC, CROSS SECTION OF THE ELEMENT AS A, SPECIFIC PRE-ARCING JOULE-INTEGRAL AS K ANDMARGIN FOR INSULATION RECOVERY BETWEEN ELECTRODES AS G, FOLLOWING EQUATIONS CAN BE OBTAINED: (1)PRIMARY COMMUTATION TIME : TEA=ID*RC/A (2)PRE-ARCING TIME : TM=(2/3)TEA+A*A*K/(ID**2) (3)MAXIMUM ALLOWABLE COMMUTATION CURRENT: IDMAX=(1/3)TH POWER OF (3AGAAK/RC) 3.SPECIFIC PRE-ARCING JOULE-INTEGRAL OF ELEMENTS WERE MEASURED AS 106% FOR CU,46% FOR AL,10% FOR SUS AND 8% FOR NICR WITH REFERENCE TO AG. 4.BREAKING TIME IS LONGER WITH A SMALLER CURRENT. 5.PEAK ARC VOLTAGES AFTER THE ELEMENT FUSION ARE2 3 TIMES LARGER WITH DISTILLED WATER, SI-OIL OR SI-COMPOUND AS A FILLER MATERIAL, THAN THOSE WITH ARC EXTINGUISHING SAND, AND THEY INCREASE WITH A SMALLER CROSS SECTION OF THE ELEMENT AND A HIGHER CURRENT. 6.COMMUTATION CHARACTERISTICS CAN BE IMPROVED BY CONNECTING AN ADDITIONAL GAP IN SERIES TO THE ELEMENT.
