植物の光合成機能を模擬して水の光分解を行い,水素を発生させることを目的として以下の実験を行った。1.本多-藤島効果の追試として酸化チタン焼結体を用いて水の光分解反応を行った。バイアスとしてはPH勾配を用いた。2.水溶性マンガンポルフィリンは水の酸化は解媒しないが,酸素の還元を触媒し過酸化水素を発生させた。3.水の光分解触媒として,N.E.Kaganの積層型ポルフィリンの合成を試みたが,最終段階の2層形成反応は進行しなかった。
概要 (英文)
MUCH ATTENTION HAS FOCUSED ON SOLAR RADIATION AS ONE OF ALTERNATIVE ENERGY RESOURCES BECAUSE OF ITS HUGE, CLEAN, AND INEXAUSTIBLE CHARACTER. SOLAR CELLS, ONE OF DEVELOPING DEVICE OF UTLIZING SOLAR ENERGY HAS SOME FAULTS SUCH AS THAT IT CAN NOT WORK AT NIGHT, THAT ITS POWER DECREASES IN BAD WEATHER, AND THAT ITS POWER CHANGES WITH SOLAR RADIATION. IN ORDER TO SOLVE SUCH PROBLEMS, IT IS NECESSARY TO CONVERT SOLAR ENERGY TO CHEMICAL ENERGY. IN THIS REPORT, WE INVESTIGATED PHOTOLYSIS OF WATER BY SOLAR RADIATION WITH A METHOD MIMICING PHOTOSYNTHESIS OF HIGHER PLANT. AT FIRST, WE FOLLOWED THE EXPERIMENTS REPORTED BY HONDA AND FUJISHIMA. TITANIC OXIDE WAS USED AS PHOTOANODE AND PLATINA AS CATHODE. -0.6V WAS BIASSED TO ANODE BY PH GRADIENT. SPLITTING WATER WAS OBSERVED BY ILLUMINATION. SECOND, IT WAS INVESTIGATED WHEATHERCHARACTERISTIC OF THE WATER-SOLUBLE PORPHYRINE CATALYZE OXIDIZE AND/ORREDUCE WATER. IT WAS FOUND THAT MN PORPHYRINE DID NOT CATALYZE OXIDATION OF WATER, BUT ACCESS REDUCTION OF MOLECULAR OXYGEN. FURTHERE MORE ACTIVE SPECIES OF MN WAS 2+ WHICH CATALYZED TWO ELECTRON TRANSFER REACTION, I.E., HYDROGEN PEROXIDE WAS PRODUCED. AT LAST, WE TRIED TO SYNTHESISKAGAN S STRATIPORPHYRINE AS A CATALYST OF ARTIFICIAL PHOTOSYNTHESIS AND FAILED TO PRODUCE THE PORPHYRINE AT THE FINAL STEP.
